As a result of the investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, an indictment was prepared based on the detection of advertisements for unlicensed and illegal betting sites using virtual advertising techniques during football matches broadcast on TV platforms, in violation of Law No. 7258.
ILLEGAL BETTING ADVERTISEMENTS DETECTED
According to the prepared indictment, it was determined that advertisements for unlicensed and illegal betting sites were made using virtual advertising techniques during football matches broadcast on TV 8 and the EXXEN internet broadcasting platform owned by Acun Ilıcalı.
UP TO 5 YEARS OF IMPRISONMENT REQUESTED
In the indictment prepared by the Cyber Crimes Investigation Bureau of the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office; it is claimed that advertisements for unlicensed and illegal betting sites were made using virtual advertising techniques during football matches broadcast on TV 8 and EXXEN platforms by Ilıcalı, while Saran did the same on the internet broadcasting platform with the Sadettin S SPORT + logo, with a request for up to 5 years and 3 months in prison for the crime of "encouraging individuals to place advertisements and otherwise promote fixed-odds or pool betting or gambling based on sports competitions."
