According to the data from the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce, inflation in Istanbul increased by 3.9% in September. The annual inflation rate, however, decreased to 59.18%.

According to September 2023, the price changes observed in September 2024 compared to the same month of the previous year showed a change rate of 59.18% in the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce's (ITO) 1995-based Wage Earners' Living Index and 47.89% in the Wholesale Goods Price Index.



A DECREASE IN TRANSPORTATION AND COMMUNICATION EXPENDITURES WAS OBSERVED



In September 2024, compared to the previous month, retail prices showed an increase of 14.62% in the other expenditures group, 13.24% in the culture, education, and entertainment expenditures group, 6.67% in the clothing expenditures group, 4.18% in the housing expenditures group, 3.62% in the household goods expenditures group, 2.63% in the food expenditures group, and 0.72% in the health and personal care expenditures group; while a decrease of 0.35% was observed in the transportation and communication expenditures group.



AN INCREASE IN FUEL AND ENERGY GROUP WAS OBSERVED



In September 2024, compared to the previous month, wholesale prices showed an increase of 13.72% in the textiles group, 6.83% in the raw materials group, 5.48% in the construction materials group, 4.43% in the chemical substances group, 2.61% in the foodstuffs group, 2.60% in the minerals group, and 2.01% in the fuel and energy materials group. - ISTANBUL
