The leader of the CHP, Özgür Özel, claimed that the Arnavutköy Municipality caused public harm in an asphalt tender and a land sale, and that the Mayor, Mustafa Candaroğlu, engaged in irregular transactions regarding a villa with a view of Kanal Istanbul. He also alleged that the Deputy Mayor, Davut Paralı, attempted to deceive the prosecutor's office with an official letter. Özel called on Chief Prosecutor Akın Gürlek to investigate these four incidents.
CHP General Chairman Özgür Özel attended the "Defending the Will of the Nation" rally organized by his party in the Arnavutköy district of Istanbul. Speaking at the rally held in Arnavutköy Square, Özel addressed the party members.
CALLED OUT ISTANBUL CHIEF PROSECUTOR GÜRLEK BY LISTING 4 ALLEGATIONS Özel, who previously announced that they would reveal a "great scandal" at this rally, claimed that the AK Party's Arnavutköy Municipality caused public harm in the asphalt tender and the sale of a plot of land, and that Deputy Mayor Davut Paralı attempted to deceive the Gaziosmanpaşa Prosecutor's Office with an official letter. He also alleged that Arnavutköy Mayor Mustafa Candaroğlu and Municipal Council Member Ercan Döner acted unlawfully in a villa with a view of Kanal Istanbul, calling on Istanbul Chief Prosecutor Akın Gürlek to initiate an investigation into these 4 incidents.
ASFALT TENDER IN ARNAVUTKÖY Özel's statements are as follows: "This is the first act of the scandal in Arnavutköy. Municipalities in Istanbul have gone out to tender for asphalt for the year 2025, and the tenders for asphalt in the same year were completed at a price per ton. The AK Party's Bağcılar Municipality's cost per ton of asphalt is 3,553 TL. The CHP's Maltepe Municipality is 2,716 TL. The CHP's Tuzla Municipality is 2,669 TL. The AK Party's Arnavutköy Municipality is 6,501 TL. I swear I looked at the specifications, the asphalt is the same asphalt. The asphalt tender in Arnavutköy is going to end at 587 million, while the next highest bid is 708 million TL. There is a public loss of 327 million in between. Mayor Mustafa Candaroğlu and Council Member Ercan Döner have purchased a plot of land with a view of Kanal Istanbul, and they said, 'Let's cover a plot of land too.' PUBLIC LOSS IN LAND SALE IN ARNAVUTKÖY Now the fourth act of the scandal. Hadımköy Industrial Site, during the Hadımköy Municipality period, they built a structure on an 8,000 square meter plot of land called Kelebek Matbaa through a build-operate-transfer model. When they closed the local municipalities, Hadımköy Municipality was transferred to Arnavutköy Municipality. This land was left to them. Arnavutköy Municipality sold this place in 2016.
It was sold to AK Party Provincial Manager Burak Aydın for 251 million TL. The value of the land is 215 million, the value of the structure on it is 220 million, making the total value 435 million. The AK Party Provincial Manager paid 250 million. The public loss is 185 million. The place is known, the homeland is known, the public loss is here.
