The Trollhättan factory, where Swedish car brand Saab has been manufacturing since 1947, is closing. Following NEVS, which took over Saab's assets, deciding to halt operations, the factory's final prototype vehicles, production equipment, and thousands of spare parts will be sold at auction. It has also been announced that the Emily GT project, seen as the future electric sedan model, has been completely shelved.

The end of the road is in sight for Saab, one of the legendary brands of the automotive world. The factory in Trollhättan, Sweden, which has been the heart of production since 1947, is preparing to officially bid farewell to its operations as the last vehicles and equipment are put up for auction.

According to a report by The Drive, National Electric Vehicle Sweden (NEVS), which took over Saab's assets after its bankruptcy in 2012, has decided to completely cease its operations. In this context, the remaining prototype vehicles and production equipment at the factory have been placed on the sales list.

FINAL VEHICLES GO ON SALE

In the auction to be held via Klaravik, significant vehicles symbolizing Saab's technological transformation will be offered to collectors. Thousands of spare parts, design mockups, and historical posters belonging to the brand will also be included in the auction.

EMILY GT PROJECT ALSO SHELVED

It has been reported that the Emily GT project, developed by NEVS engineers and touted as the electric sedan model of the future, has also come to a complete end. Efforts to move the model into mass production have proven unsuccessful.

FAREWELL TO THE HISTORIC FACTORY

The auction is announced to start on May 21 and end on May 30. On the final day of the auction, Saab enthusiasts will also be given the opportunity to visit the Trollhättan factory.

Thus, the official closure process will be completed for the Saab brand, which left a significant mark on the automotive world, and its historic Trollhättan factory.
