62-year-old retired Necdet Tilif, who has been fighting for survival inside a wrecked vehicle for 4 months due to a restraining order taken against him by his spouse in Antalya, said, "Is there no law to protect me? If this were Erzurum, I would have frozen to death from the first day."

Necdet Tilif, who lives in the Çıplaklı neighborhood of Döşemealtı district in Antalya, has been continuing his life in his car for 4 months in a location close to his home. Due to a restraining order against him, he cannot approach his house and is trying to survive the cold winter days with blankets and pillows placed inside his car. He meets his food and heating needs with the help of his neighbors. However, his car became unusable due to a traffic accident he had 6 days ago. This situation also took away Tilif's chance to earn a living by doing side jobs.

THE DESTRUCTION FOLLOWING A MARRIAGE

Necdet Tilif claimed that his life turned into a nightmare after marrying Z.T., whom he met on social media 4 years ago. He stated that the arguments that started when his wife asked for the title deed of the house on the 10th day of their marriage escalated to the point where Z.T. received a 3-month prison sentence due to a report of assault she obtained in Ankara. Tilif, who noted that his sentence was postponed because he had a clean record, recounted the incident he experienced on the first day of their marriage as follows: "I married my wife after meeting her on Facebook through social media. We have been married for four years. On the 10th day of our marriage, she wanted me to give her the sale of the house. We argued; this topic had never come up before. We had a verbal argument, and I went to bed. She was flying to Ankara. There, she staged a scene and inflicted injuries on herself. She filed a complaint after obtaining a report of assault, and I was sentenced to 3 months for intentional injury. My sentence was postponed because I have a clean record. No one asks where the incident happened. What was she doing in Ankara? You obtain a report of assault. I am against all forms of violence; I am a humanitarian, an emotional person. But my wife has poisoned my life for 4 years."

LIVING ON THE STREETS SINCE AUGUST 10

During the marriage process, Tilif sold his house in Bahçeyaka neighborhood due to debts and bought a 1+1 apartment in Çıplaklı neighborhood. At his wife's insistence, he transferred this house to Z.T. However, Tilif claimed that he was forced to live on the streets due to a restraining order after a dispute that occurred on August 10, 2024, alleging that his wife cheated on him. Tilif stated, "I sold my house in Bahçeyaka due to my debts and bought a 1+1 apartment from TOKİ. She insisted, 'Make the title deed in my name, make the title deed in my name.' So, I made it a joint ownership, meaning a shared title deed. I said that this shared deed cannot be sold without the consent of one of the parties. This did not satisfy her. A month later, she ran away from home again. She said, 'If you don't give me the entire house, I won't come back.' Having reached a mature age, I thought I could save the home, so I gave her the entire house. As a reward, I caught the man she had been cheating on me with for two years in the trash section of her phone's photo gallery. I found very intimate photos of her with the man. Since August 10, 2024, I have been living on the streets. Is there no law in this country to protect me?"

Necdet Tilif stated that the drama he experienced was not limited to restraining orders, claiming that the title deed of the house he transferred to his wife 2 years ago was also transferred to Z.T.'s daughter about a month ago. Tilif expressed that after this transfer, he felt he had no legal rights left and became even more isolated in his quest for justice. He stated that he did not have the financial means to follow legal processes and was researching the ways he could turn to in desperation since he could not afford to hire a lawyer.

"HIS CAR TURNED INTO A WRECK"

The traffic accident he had 6 days ago made Necdet Tilif's life even more difficult. Before the accident, Tilif was making a living by collecting aluminum cans and selling second-hand clothes at night while driving his car. He reported that the steering and front axle of his car were severely damaged in the accident, and with the car becoming unusable, this source of income was also closed. Tilif explained his economic collapse by saying, "I used to go through the trash at night with this car, collecting cans and selling clothes. I was earning 200-300 lira a day. Now I have no car, no job."

"MAY GOD DO AS HE WISHES"

Addressing his wife Z.T., Necdet Tilif said, "May God do as He wishes with my wife. A person commits a crime and escapes from the laws. No one sees, they escape from society, but they cannot escape from their own conscience. I leave her to God for the suffering she has caused me since August. I don't even think she has a conscience."
