According to information obtained from the Ministry, with the amendment made in the regulation, the maximum residue limits to be applied in the official controls of domestically produced and imported foods have been updated. The limits to be applied to domestically produced legumes, grains, tea, herbal infusions, and animal products, especially fresh fruits and vegetables, have taken into account current scientific evaluations at both national and international levels. LIMITS FOR IMPORTED PRODUCTS HAVE ALSO CHANGEDFor some foods, a residue limit has been determined for the first time, while limits have been reduced for many foods. Thus, compliance with European Union practices has been achieved. With the regulation, comprehensive changes have also been made to the maximum pesticide residue limits applied to imported foods. The changes were made considering the EU regulation that governs the maximum residue limits for pesticides. In this context, imported foods will be controlled according to the new residue limits, and their entry into the country will be permitted.
