A small child in Denizli was left hanging outside the balcony safety net. The child, held by his mother for minutes, was rescued following an intervention by a firefighter.
The incident occurred in the evening hours in the Sırakapılar neighborhood of Merkezefendi district. According to the information obtained, the small child, who had gone outside through the room's window while playing at home, moved to the outer side of the safety net stretched on the balcony. After a while, losing his balance, the child clung to the net and remained suspended in the air. The mother, noticing the situation, moved quickly, caught her child, and held him tightly to prevent him from falling. Unable to pull her child up but not allowing him to fall either, the mother struggled on the balcony for about 10 minutes. Following a report from nearby citizens, Denizli Metropolitan Municipality fire brigade teams were dispatched to the area in a short time.
NEIGHBORS TOOK PRECAUTIONS BY SPREADING A SHEET
Since the mother was alone holding the child, she could not open the apartment door for outside help, while citizens tried to take precautions by spreading a sheet outside and also attempted to break the door down. One citizen even tried to rescue the child by leaning down from the upper floor apartment. The fire brigade teams, advancing quickly toward the scene, had great difficulty entering the area due to the narrow street and haphazardly parked vehicles.

Reaching the balcony with the help of a ladder, the fire brigade teams intervened with the child and asked the mother for assistance. When the anxious mother said, 'I'm scared,' the firefighter's response, 'Don't worry at all. I'll die, but I'll save him. Nothing will happen,' did not go unnoticed. Racing against time, the teams managed to reach the child by extending the vehicle ladder at a point where the vehicle could not enter. As a result of the careful intervention by the fire brigade teams, the net was cut, and the small child was taken and rescued by his mother.
