On September 8, 2025, in the Yeşilyurt district of Malatya, 70-year-old minibus driver Nedim Özbey, who was seriously injured after being impaled by a metal guardrail, lost his 3.5-month battle for life in the hospital where he was being treated.

The driver, who was seriously injured after the minibus he was driving crashed into a metal railing in Malatya, lost his life after a struggle for survival of approximately 3.5 months in the hospital where he was treated.

The incident occurred on Monday, September 8, 2025, in the Yakınca neighborhood of the Yeşilyurt district. According to the information obtained, the minibus driven by 70-year-old Nedim Özbey, who was heading towards Farabi Middle School, crashed into the metal railings on the side of the road after the driver lost control of the steering wheel.

A METAL ROD PIERCED HIS HEAD

As a result of the impact, a piece of metal pierced the minibus's window and became lodged in Özbey's head. The seriously injured driver was taken to the hospital.
