M.K., the alleged leader of the 'Casperlar' criminal organization, which was caught in Romania and extradited to Turkey, confessed that he was smuggled abroad in the trunk of a diplomatic-plated van. Following this development, an operation was carried out in Edirne, resulting in the detention of 6 suspects, who were subsequently arrested and sent to prison. "I CAME BY PIRATE TAXI AND STAYED IN A PENSION"
According to the information received, M.K., who is stated to be one of the leaders of the armed criminal organization known as "Casperlar," was caught in Romania on February 9 and extradited to Turkey. In his interrogation at the police station, M.K. stated that he "came from Istanbul to Edirne by pirate taxi and stayed one night in a pension in the city."
"I FLED TO ROMANIA WITH A DIPLOMATIC PLATED SUV"
M.K. expressed that he was taken from the pension he stayed in to a car wash shop in Edirne Small Industrial Site, and he confessed that he was loaded into the trunk of a diplomatic-plated SUV there, and that he fled to Bulgaria and then to Romania this way. M.K., who was referred to the courthouse, was arrested by the judge. M.K. was sent to Edirne L-Type Closed Prison.
AN OPERATION WAS CARRIED OUT
Following M.K.'s statement, the teams of the Edirne Provincial Police Department's Human Smuggling and Border Security Branch initiated an operation. The teams examined the security camera footage of the pension and the car wash shop that M.K. provided the address for.
It was determined that the diplomatic-plated SUV that entered the car wash belonged to T.N.H., a Vietnamese national. The teams detained 6 suspects on the grounds that they assisted M.K. in hiding and fleeing abroad, as well as the driver who brought M.K. from Istanbul to Edirne. The suspects were referred to the courthouse. After their statements at the prosecutor's office, the suspects A.Ç, B.Ç, A.F, T.G, F.O, and C.Ö were arrested by the judge.
