The Ministry of Interior issued warnings for the expected severe weather conditions in the Eastern Black Sea and Aegean coasts. Citizens were advised to take precautions due to heavy snowfall and strong storms.
The Ministry of Interior stated that heavy snowfall is expected in the high regions of the Eastern Black Sea, while a strong storm is anticipated along the Aegean coast, and emphasized the need to be cautious against potential adverse conditions.
In a statement made on the ministry's social media account, it was noted that according to the latest information received from the General Directorate of Meteorology, heavy snowfall is expected on the eastern side of Giresun, the western and eastern districts of Trabzon, as well as in the interior and high areas of Rize and Artvin on Tuesday, January 20, 2026. On Wednesday, January 21, 2026, the wind expected to blow from the south and southeast along the Aegean coast is anticipated to be strong and stormy in Muğla; in Datça, Marmaris, and Bodrum, there may be strong storms in places, and strong winds and occasional storms are expected in the south and west of Aydın and the southwest of İzmir.
WARNING TO CITIZENS TO TAKE PRECAUTIONS
It was emphasized that our citizens should be careful and take precautions against adverse conditions such as disruptions in transportation, avalanche risk, icing and freezing, blizzards, roof collapses, roof blow-offs, tree falls, and carbon monoxide poisoning from stoves and natural gas, and to pay attention to the warnings of the relevant authorities.
