Claims that Asus will not introduce a new smartphone throughout 2026 have gained clarity in the early days of the month. With the latest developments, the company's decision to withdraw from the smartphone market has been officially confirmed.

CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD OFFICIALLY ANNOUNCED

Asus Chairman Jonney Shih announced at a special gala event held at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center that the brand will not present a new phone model within 2026. Shih emphasized that this decision is part of the company's long-term strategic transformation.

According to Shih's statements, Asus will redirect its resources and R&D investments towards areas focused on physical artificial intelligence, such as corporate computer solutions, robotic systems, and smart glasses in the upcoming period. While aiming for growth in these areas, the company will redefine its priorities in consumer electronics.

MAINTENANCE SERVICES WILL CONTINUE

On the other hand, Asus also announced that maintenance, software updates, and warranty services for smartphones currently on the market will continue to be provided. It was specifically stated that support services will be maintained to ensure that existing users are not negatively affected by this process.
