62 MILLION TOURISTS CAME IN 2024
Turkey also experienced an influx of foreign tourists in 2024. According to data compiled from the tourism statistics of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the number of foreign visitors to Turkey in 2024 reached 62 million 269 thousand 890. Of these visitors, 52 million 629 thousand 283 were foreigners, while 9 million 640 thousand 607 were citizens residing abroad.
4 MILLION TOURISTS IN THE FIRST TWO MONTHS OF 2025
According to border entry-exit statistics, Turkey hosted 2 million 171 thousand 118 foreign visitors in January 2025 and 2 million 171 thousand 942 in February. Based on this data, the number of foreign visitors to Turkey in the January-February period of this year increased by 0.03% compared to the same period last year, reaching 4 million 343 thousand 60. Turkey is among the most preferred countries for tourists in its geography.
In the previous year and the first two months of 2025, the total number of foreign tourists visiting Turkey was recorded as 56 million 972 thousand 343.
THE MOST TOURISTS IN THE FIRST TWO MONTHS CAME FROM IRAN
The country that sent the most visitors to Turkey in January and February was Iran, with 463 thousand 865 people. Following Iran were Russia with 371 thousand 344 people and Germany with 330 thousand 70 people. Bulgaria and England followed Germany in the ranking. In terms of the provinces where visitors entered the country, Istanbul ranked first, followed by Edirne, Antalya, Artvin, and Hakkari.
