After the death of the artist Volkan Konak, Çatalca Mufti Ahmet Mehmetalioğlu, who used the expression "he has died on stage," announced that he has been appointed as a preacher in Kocaeli. Mehmetalioğlu stated, "If we have entered a war, we will also pay the price, thank God. If my Lord has allowed this appointment, it means that greater blessings will come. God is with us, there is no problem."

The artist Volkan Konak, who passed away after suffering a heart attack on stage in the TRNC, has sparked outrage with the statements of Çatalca Mufti Ahmet Mehmetalioğlu, who used the phrase "died on stage" on social media regarding Konak's death.
