The neighbors of Semih Çelik, who brutally murdered two young girls, spoke out: He had been obsessed with İkbal since he was 14 years old.

The brutality that occurred at the Edirnekapı walls in the Fatih district of Istanbul has become a hot topic in Turkey. A 19-year-old named Semih Çelik took the lives of two young girls and then jumped from the walls to end his own life. Neighbors of Semih Çelik, who brutally murdered İkbal Uzuner and Ayşenur Halil in succession before taking his own life, made statements.

The incident occurred around 16:00 on Fevzipaşa Street in the Derviş Ali neighborhood. After dismembering İkbal Uzuner's body, Semih Çelik threw Uzuner's head and some body parts down from the walls. Çelik, who tied a rope around his neck, committed suicide by jumping from the walls.

HE DIED IN THE HOSPITAL

Upon notification, police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. While police teams took extensive security measures in the area, Çelik, who received first aid at the scene from medical teams, was taken to the hospital by ambulance. Çelik died in the hospital. It was learned from Çelik's father's statement that Çelik had received psychological treatment five times, had gone missing twice, and had previously attempted suicide.

In the investigation conducted by the police teams, it was determined that Çelik also killed his ex-girlfriend Ayşenur Halil by cutting her throat at her home in Eyüpsultan around 15:30. During searches conducted at the house, a drawing of a stick figure made by him was found. In the found drawing, a naked woman's body was seen to be dismembered. It was determined that Çelik had dismembered İkbal Uzuner, whom he killed at the Edirnekapı walls, just like in the drawing he made at home.

According to a report by Sabah, neighbors of the killer Semih Çelik made statements. Semih Çelik's neighbors noted, "Semih had been obsessed with İkbal for 5 years since he was 14. To win her over and impress her, he would date other girls to make İkbal jealous. He would come and go to the house with his girlfriends."

He was introverted and did not interact much with anyone. He usually wandered alone. He was a person who did not greet anyone, frowned when he saw someone, and did not like people.
