Greenland's Prime Minister Jens-Frederik Nielsen stated regarding U.S. President Donald Trump's comments about wanting to take control of Greenland, "To be clear, the U.S. will not be able to acquire it."
Greenland Prime Minister Jens-Frederik Nielsen responded to U.S. President Donald Trump's statements regarding his country in a statement on his social media account.
"THE U.S. CANNOT TAKE GREENLAND" Nielsen stated, "President Trump says the U.S. will take Greenland. To be clear, the U.S. cannot take it. We do not belong to anyone. We determine our own future."

Trump expressed concern over Chinese and Russian ships operating throughout Greenland, stating that they do not trust Denmark or anyone else to "handle this situation."
U.S. Vice President JD Vance VANCE SAID "WE NEED TO HAVE MORE POSITIONS IN GREENLAND" Finally, U.S. Vice President James David (JD) Vance, during his visit to Greenland with the U.S. delegation on March 28, stated that the Danish government has "not invested enough" in the island's security, drawing criticism for his remarks. Vance said, "As you all know, this is a big issue and it will grow even more in the coming decades. We need to have more positions in Greenland." He expressed his belief that the Greenlandic people would "ultimately align with the desire for control by the U.S. and the island" without the need for military force.
