In the incident that occurred the day before yesterday on 2049 Street in the Çağlayan neighborhood of Antalya's Muratpaşa district, the elderly man, identified as M.K. (83), shot a dog named Lady that had been cared for by a business for 12 years after it attacked him. Lady, who was hit by 2 bullets and taken to a special clinic for treatment by the business owner, could not be saved despite all the intervention of the veterinarian. The elderly man, who is reported to be a retired police officer, was taken to the police station. M.K. was released after his statement was taken.

In the investigation conducted by the Crime Scene Investigation teams at the location of the incident, it was learned that a large number of bullet casings were found. Meanwhile, the moments when the elderly man shot the dog that attacked him were captured on security camera footage. In the footage, M.K. was seen fleeing from the dog located next to the business and then shooting it.

A citizen named Burak Şerif Balcı, who witnessed the moment the dog was shot, said, "We heard a sound while sitting in the studio. At first, we didn't realize it was a gunshot. When I went outside, a shot was fired again. I noticed that the bullet passed by me and heard the sound. I immediately stepped back, and my friend shouted, 'They are shooting, don't go out.' When I went back out, an old man had shot the dog, and the dog was running away covered in blood. We called the police and immediately took the dog to the veterinarian. The police team took the old man to the station. Three bullet casings were found at the corner where the dog was shot. The business had been caring for the dog for 12 years. It was hit by two bullets, taken to the clinic, but we lost it around noon," he said.
REACTION FROM ANIMAL LOVERS
After the death of the dog named Lady due to the bullets from the elderly man's gun, animal lovers gathered at the scene of the incident to protest. Speaking on behalf of the neighborhood residents and animal lovers, Özlem Başargil stated that the person should be punished, saying, "The dog named Lady, who has been living on the street for years, cared for and loved by the people in the area, was killed. The perpetrator of the incident was released after giving his statement. Lady was killed."
