In Kırklareli, 4-year-old Öykü K., who was attacked with a firearm by her father who had separated from her mother, lost her life at Trakya University Medical Faculty Hospital where she was receiving treatment. The pain doubled as both the mother and daughter lost their lives in the armed attack at a children's park.
In Kırklareli, 4-year-old Öykü K., who was seriously injured in an armed attack organized by her father, who divorced her mother, at a children's playground, lost her life after days of struggling. Following the death of 26-year-old mother Çisem Çalkantı in the attack, the passing of little Öykü broke hearts. The father, who unleashed terror, was found dead in an empty lot after the incident.
RAINED BULLETS IN THE CHILDREN'S PLAYGROUND
According to the information obtained; while 26-year-old Çisem Çalkantı was at the park with her 4-year-old daughter Öykü, she encountered her ex-husband Y.K., from whom she had recently divorced. In a fit of rage, Y.K. pulled out the gun he had with him and opened fire repeatedly at his ex-wife and his own daughter. The deranged attacker quickly disappeared after the incident.
The mother and daughter, covered in blood, were taken to Kırklareli Training and Research Hospital after initial intervention by health teams dispatched to the scene. Young mother Çisem Çalkantı could not be saved despite all the doctors' efforts and died there.
LITTLE ÖYKÜ STRUGGLED FOR DAYS BUT COULD NOT BE SAVED
4-year-old Öykü, whose condition was critical, was transferred to Trakya University Medical Faculty Hospital in Edirne for advanced treatment. Her tiny body, which had been trying to cling to life in the intensive care unit for days, could no longer withstand the severe injuries. The sorrowful news of little Öykü brought grief.
WILL BE BURIED BESIDE HER MOTHER
It was later reported that the body of the suspect Y.K., who fled after the attack, was found lifeless in an empty lot.
The funeral of Çisem Çalkantı, murdered by her ex-husband, was laid to rest with tears in Yenice village, connected to the Pınarhisar district of Kırklareli. It was learned that the body of 4-year-old Öykü, who lost her fight for life, would be brought to the village and buried beside her mother. A large-scale investigation initiated by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office into the incident continues.
