The forest fire that started in the Taraklı district of Sakarya has affected many villages in the Gölpazarı and Osmaneli districts of Bilecik due to the wind. The flames, which thousands of people have been working hard to control from the air and land for 3 days, were partially brought under control with the rain that fell yesterday morning.
ANIMALS THAT PERISHED WERE REMOVED WITH A LOADER
Today, many animals perished in the area where cooling operations are still ongoing. In the Kaşıkçı neighborhood of the Soğucakpınar village in the Osmaneli district, 15 out of 20 actively used houses from 32 households were completely burned down and turned into ruins. Here, 6 large cattle and 36 small livestock perished, while the animals were removed in a controlled manner with the help of heavy machinery by teams from the Bilecik Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry. Veterinarians from the Bilecik Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry went to the area to conduct health checks on the animals that survived without being affected by the fire. While the veterinarians examined many of the surviving animals, they provided medication to those they deemed necessary.
