During the surgery at King's College Hospital, a golf ball-sized tumor was removed from the brain of 64-year-old musician Colin Miller. During the eight-hour operation, Miller was asked to play the guitar. This allowed the doctors to monitor the patient's hand and finger movements. Diagnosed with glioblastoma in October 2023, Miller described his experiences after the surgery: "I chose to stay awake during the operation. When the doctors asked how I was using my left side, I said I was playing the guitar. They woke me up during the surgery and asked me to play the guitar. I couldn't play the songs I knew, but I was able to play the chords." Despite his illness, Miller continues his work in the church choir. "I'm experiencing an interesting situation. I struggle when speaking, but I have no problems when singing," said Miller, who goes for check-ups every three months. On the anniversary of his surgery, Miller launched a meaningful campaign, aiming to walk 159 kilometers in a month to support brain tumor research. So far, he has raised donations worth 27,000 TL, stating, "I had to give up my driver's license, but I can walk. With this campaign, I want to be a source of hope."
