A patient who had difficulty walking and was admitted to the hospital with complaints of pain had a piece of a slipper removed from a wound on their foot. After the piece was taken out, Ece, who felt relieved, said, "If you saw the piece that came out of my foot, you would say, 'How could this have gone unnoticed?' It's a large piece of a slipper. I forgot how to walk for about 4 months; I was limping."
Yasin Ece, who lives in Konya, experienced swelling in his foot due to a nail that had embedded itself while he was walking four months ago. Over time, Ece, who had difficulty walking, was found to have a piece of a slipper that had entered through the wound in his foot during a check-up at Farabi Hospital.
"I FORGOT HOW TO WALK FOR FOUR MONTHS"
After the piece was removed, Ece said, "If you saw the piece that came out of my foot, you would say, 'How could this have gone unnoticed?' It's a large piece of slipper. I forgot how to walk for about four months, I limped. I am a barber, and I couldn't do my job."
"THE PATIENT HAS COMPLETELY RECOVERED"
Prof. Dr. Mehmet Arazi, an Orthopedics and Traumatology Specialist who performed the operation, stated that after the examinations and tests conducted on the patient, they considered the possibility of a foreign object being present in the wound. Arazi explained that they found pieces of slipper in the wound of the patient who was taken into surgery, saying, "After removing these pieces, our patient's complaints decreased. In such injuries, a foreign object can enter that area. Our body is sensitive to these. Our patient has completely regained his health after four months, and his wound has healed."
