The first signal of a ceasefire violation from Iran has arrived. Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Ghalibaf stated that the U.S. has violated three items due to the attack on Lebanon, the violation of Iranian airspace, and the rejection of uranium enrichment, saying, "In such a situation, it is illogical to have a bilateral ceasefire or negotiations. A ceasefire is not reasonable under these conditions."
Iran's Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf stated that the United States has violated three articles of the ten-point ceasefire agreement reached between the parties.
QALIBAF'S CEASEFIRE STATEMENT
Iran's Parliament Speaker Mohammad Qalibaf argued that the United States has destroyed the ground for reconciliation due to attacks on Lebanon, violations of Iranian airspace, and pressures on the nuclear program. Stating that rules have been violated in these three areas, Qalibaf expressed that under the current conditions, a bilateral ceasefire or a new negotiation process is no longer reasonable.
This statement, which escalates tensions in the region, is seen as the first concrete signal that the Tehran administration is moving away from diplomatic solutions. Qalibaf emphasized the rejection of uranium enrichment rights as a red line, stating that it is illogical to sit at the negotiating table as long as their demands are not met.
"THE US VIOLATED 3 ARTICLES"
Qalibaf said: "Before the negotiations began, the statement regarding the violation of three fundamental articles of the Ten-Point Proposal (Framework Agreement) is as follows:
Our deep historical distrust of the United States stems from its repeated violations of all kinds of commitments; unfortunately, this situation has once again recurred.
As clearly stated by the President of the United States in his own statement ("Truth"), the Ten-Point Proposal of the Islamic Republic of Iran is a "workable basis" for negotiations and the main framework for these discussions. However, three articles of this proposal have been violated so far:
"CEASEFIRE NOT OBSERVED IN LEBANON"
The non-compliance with the first article regarding the ceasefire in Lebanon of the Ten-Point Proposal — which commitment has also been explicitly stated by Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and declared as "a ceasefire that will be immediately valid everywhere, including Lebanon and other regions";
"IRANIAN AIRSPACE VIOLATED"
As a clear violation of the article prohibiting any violation of Iranian airspace, the destruction of an intrusive drone that entered Iranian airspace in the city of Lar, Fars Province; the rejection of Iran's right to enrichment as stated in the sixth article of the framework.
"UNDER THESE CONDITIONS, A CEASEFIRE IS NOT REASONABLE"
At this point, the very "workable basis" of the negotiations has been clearly violated even before the negotiations have begun. In such a situation, a bilateral ceasefire or negotiation is illogical. A ceasefire is not reasonable under these conditions."
CEASEFIRE BETWEEN THE US-ISRAEL-IRAN
Following the attacks initiated by the US and Israel against Iran on February 28, which turned into a war process with Iran's retaliations and attacks on some regional countries, US President Donald Trump announced on April 8 around 01:30 that he accepted the ceasefire. Trump stated that they accepted a two-week ceasefire on the condition of the opening of the Strait of Hormuz, that they received a ten-point proposal from Iran, and that this is a workable basis for negotiation.
The Iranian National Security High Council, which stated that "Iran has achieved its objectives in the war," also reported that the final negotiations are aimed to be concluded in Islamabad within a maximum of 15 days. Turkey, Pakistan, and Egypt have made intense efforts for the continuation and conclusion of the message exchange between the US and Iran.
The Israeli administration, which announced its support for the temporary ceasefire, continues its attacks on Lebanon, arguing that the issue of Lebanon is not included in the reconciliation.
