WRITTEN STATEMENT AFTER MGK
The National Security Council (MGK) meeting, chaired by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, was held at the Presidential Complex and lasted approximately 3 hours. A declaration was published after the meeting.
The declaration included the following statements: "The National Security Council convened on April 8, 2026, under the chairmanship of the President of the Republic of Turkey, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. During the meeting; 1. Information was presented to the Council regarding the activities carried out with determination, decisiveness, and success against all kinds of threats and dangers to our national unity and integrity, primarily the PKK/KCK-PYD/YPG, FETÖ, and DAESH terrorist organizations, both domestically and abroad, as well as recent international developments."
"NO PERMISSION WILL BE GIVEN TO SABOTAGE THE TERROR-FREE TURKEY PROCESS"
2. The efforts to achieve the goal of a terror-free Turkey and the vision of a terror-free region were discussed. It was emphasized that the ongoing wars, conflicts, and provocations in our surroundings would not be allowed to sabotage the process, and that terrorism would be removed from our nation's agenda permanently.
"WE ARE SATISFIED WITH THE CEASEFIRE"
3. Satisfaction was expressed regarding the efforts to end the war between Israel and the USA and Iran, which has plunged our region and the entire world into great uncertainty and negatively affected global economic balances; it was reminded that all measures regarding the safety of our citizens and borders would continue to be taken meticulously.

4. The effects of the wars and conflicts in our region on Iraq were discussed; the importance of maintaining the peace of the friendly and brotherly people of Iraq and the stability and security environment in the country was emphasized.
5. It was stated that the actions of the Israeli Administration regarding ceasefire violations in Gaza and attempts to seize West Bank territories, as well as actions aimed at undermining the historical identity and legal status of Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Noble Sanctuary, have harmed the peace process and the two-state solution approach. It was emphasized that the Israeli Administration's occupation policies extending to Lebanon have caused new humanitarian tragedies, and the international community was called to take action against these unlawful actions; our strong support for Lebanon's sovereignty and territorial integrity was reaffirmed.
SYRIA MESSAGE
6. Developments recorded in the establishment of peace, stability, and tranquility in Syria were evaluated; it was emphasized that efforts to implement the agreement regarding the integration process that will reinforce the country's territorial integrity, sovereignty, and unity will be supported decisively within the framework of brotherhood and neighborhood law.
7. The course of the Russia-Ukraine War was discussed; it was emphasized that attacks spilling over to the Black Sea and threatening energy security would not be tolerated, and all parties were called to act with restraint.
8. It was stated that we are going through a historical process that deeply shakes the international security environment with wars and conflicts; it was emphasized that our country, which has made it a principle to resolve disputes through negotiation and diplomacy, will continue its sincere efforts towards establishing peace in cooperation with its allies and friends, as an island of stability. It is respectfully submitted to the public's information."
