"HE DID IT BY WATCHING ME AND LOOKING AT WHAT I MADE"

Osman Heper, who has been a spoon master for about 10 years, said, "I saw metal spoons and forks on the plane while traveling. I thought about making them from wood. Some professors talked about the harms of metal. So, I started making them to promote the use of wood among people. My childhood friend Halit saw the spoons I made and liked them. He wanted to make them too, and he has been doing it for 2 years. He did it by watching me and looking at what I made."

HE CAN CARVE A SPOON EVERY 3 DAYS

Halit Yıldızeli, who is apprenticing with his friend, stated, "While walking around here, I wanted to open a shop in such a place. I think the spoons made by my master are valuable. I told my master that I wanted to crown this work in a shop. I was trying to learn at home, but we were not always available. We opened our shop, and there is demand from outside. I was very interested in these works. Since I understand turning and leveling work, I wanted to start. I think I am doing it now. The wooden spoon is a culture that comes from our ancestors. Just as there is a return from the city to the village, there is also a tendency towards nature from carcinogenic substances. I started to help my master and learn. After I finish my apprenticeship, I don't know if I will have an apprentice. We do this for the citizens to use. I complete a spoon in 2 to 3 days. But my master completes it in about 6 hours," he expressed.
