The Deputy Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey and DEM Party Istanbul Deputy Sırrı Süreyya Önder has been hospitalized due to a heart condition. Two statements have been made by the DEM Party regarding Önder, whose condition is reported to be serious.

Meanwhile, Istanbul Governor Davut Gül visited the hospital where Önder is receiving treatment to gather information. Speaking to the press, Gül stated, "The surgery is expected to continue until the early hours of the morning. It is a serious operation, and the doctors will share the outcome. The surgery is expected to last 6-7 hours," he said.
