DID NOT COMPLY WITH 'STOP' WARNING, SERIOUSLY INJURED THE POLICE OFFICER
The incident occurred in the Kayapınar district on June 19, 2024. According to the information obtained, police teams conducting a traffic check attempted to stop the vehicle driven by A.Ş. The driver, who did not comply with the police's 'stop' warning, hit officer Fatih Oral, who was on duty at the checkpoint, causing serious injuries. The injured police officer was taken to Gazi Yaşargil Training and Research Hospital by ambulance for treatment.
IT WAS DETERMINED THAT HE WAS 2.34 PROMILE INTOXICATED
After the incident, it was determined that the driver A.Ş. had a blood alcohol level of 2.34 promille. After his procedures at the police station, the driver was referred to the courthouse, where he was arrested by the judicial authorities and sent to prison.
LOST HIS 6-MONTH FIGHT FOR LIFE
The injured police officer was first transferred from Diyarbakır to Aydın Adnan Menderes University Hospital, and then to the palliative care unit of Aydın Women's and Children's Hospital. While his treatment continued in the palliative care unit, he was transferred to Çine State Hospital after being moved to the newly completed Aydın City Hospital. The police officer passed away in the hospital where he was being treated in Çine.
