The explosion that occurred at the Port of Bandar Abbas, located on the coast of the Persian Gulf in Iran, negatively affected export activities. Agriculture Minister Gholamreza Nourizadeh Kizilce stated that after the explosion, ships carrying goods to the port were redirected to other ports.
The Port of Bender Abbas, located on the shores of the Persian Gulf in Iran, has been rendered inoperable following an explosion, with activities at the strategic port, where a significant portion of the country's exports are conducted, redirected to Imam Khomeini Port in the northern Gulf.
SHIPS HAVE BEEN DIRECTED TO OTHER PORTS
Agriculture Minister Gholamreza Nourizadeh announced during a Crisis Management meeting that ships carrying goods to the port of Shahid Raji in Bender Abbas, located in Hormozgan province, have been redirected to other ports following the explosion.
The Iranian minister stated, "Ships carrying essential goods have been redirected to other ports, primarily Imam Khomeini Port."
Imam Khomeini Port is located in the Khuzestan province on the northern shore of the Persian Gulf.
WHAT HAPPENED?
A severe explosion occurred at the Port of Bender Abbas, located on the southern shores of the Persian Gulf, around noon.
The cause of the explosion has not yet been determined.
It was reported that 14 people lost their lives and 750 were injured in the incident, which occurred due to the explosion of some containers at the port.
Images from the scene showed the intensity of the explosion, indicating that a part of the port suffered significant damage.
