A father experiencing economic difficulties in South Korea was found dead at home along with his four children; a suicide note left at the scene, containing the words "It is very difficult to take care of the children alone," revealed the extent of the tragedy.

A father and his four children were found dead in their home in Ulsan, South Korea. The incident is believed to be linked to the family's economic difficulties and lack of social support.

TEACHER BECAME SUSPICIOUS WHEN CHILDREN DID NOT GO TO SCHOOL

According to local media reports, the four children, aged 7, 5, 2, and 5 months, along with their father, were found motionless in the same room on March 18. The incident came to light when the teacher of the oldest child reported to the police after the child did not attend school for three consecutive days.

SUICIDE NOTE FOUND

Police teams found the family deceased in the home they entered following the report, and a suicide note was also discovered at the scene. The note reportedly contained the father's expressions of "I'm sorry, I love you" addressed to his wife, and "It's very hard to take care of the children alone." It was also noted that uneaten hamburgers and fries were found in the house.

MOTHER'S ARREST WORSENED THE FAMILY'S SITUATION

Investigations revealed that the father did not have a regular job and worked in daily jobs, struggling to work because he had to take care of the baby. It was reported that the family's economic situation worsened after the mother was arrested for a crime at the end of 2025.

It was reported that in the last month, the children had largely stopped going to school and daycare, and neighbors stated that they had not seen the family for some time. A local grocery store operator mentioned that the father occasionally came with his children to shop on credit and paid off his debt later.

FATHER REJECTED SOCIAL ASSISTANCE APPLICATION

Authorities stated that the family had previously received financial support and basic necessities under emergency aid but did not benefit from regular social assistance. It was learned that despite poor hygiene conditions being identified during a home visit, the father rejected the social assistance application.

The police assessed that the family may have passed away on the evening of March 16, stating that the exact cause of death would be clarified through autopsy and investigations.
