The former President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Ersin Tatar, sparked a major controversy with his statement, "Cübbeli Ahmet's prayer cost me 5 points," regarding his election defeat. Cübbeli Ahmet reacted to these words by saying, "During a video call, he asked me for a prayer, and I prayed for him," while Tatar responded, "I don't remember ever having a conversation with him." Following these statements, Cübbeli Ahmet released a recording of the video call he claimed took place between them.

The statements made by former TRNC President Ersin Tatar during a meeting with a group of journalists from Turkey in Nicosia ignited a major controversy. Tatar, while evaluating his election defeat, referred to a prayer video shared by Cübbeli Ahmet before the elections, saying, "He cost me 5% of the votes. The people won't fall for such things. You will come out and pray for me... That video reached everyone, I didn't do it, maybe they did."

CÜBBELİ AHMET: HE ASKED ME FOR PRAYERS EVERY TIME

Following these remarks, Cübbeli Ahmet claimed in a statement that Tatar had met with him several times. He stated, "He met with me a few times. During one video call, he asked me for prayers, and I prayed. How was I to know he was so faithless? Later, I heard that his wife had made remarks about headscarf-wearing students studying in Cyprus. After hearing this, I regretted praying for him," he expressed.

"I DON'T REMEMBER EVER MEETING"

Ersin Tatar, in a statement on his social media account, denied these claims, saying, "Unfortunately, I had to make such a statement. I do not remember ever meeting with Cübbeli Ahmet. It is out of the question for me to ask him for the prayer he distributed with that video."

CÜBBELİ AHMET SHARED THE RECORDING OF THE MEETING

After this statement, Cübbeli Ahmet shared the recording of the video call he claimed took place between them, continuing the controversy with the words, "Since you attributed your loss to me rather than your own mistakes, it seems your loss was beneficial, as Allah made me pray for you and caused you to lose."
