According to a report by Kocaeli newspaper, Fatma Kaplan Hürriyet made a statement regarding the allegations. Hürriyet stated that the allegations do not reflect the truth and provided a clear response to the public.

Hürriyet said, "It is an allegation that arose from a slip of the tongue where I mistakenly said 'İzmit Metropolitan' instead of 'İzmir Metropolitan.' İzmit is not even a metropolitan city. I don't even take it seriously," she expressed.
