Derya Çayırgan, who was detained, stated in her testimony to the prosecutor's office that the money movements in the MASAK reports were derived from her savings and were used for purchasing a property. However, she could not provide a clear answer to the question of why the payments were made in dollars and Turkish lira instead of euros, saying, "I don't know why I did it that way at that time... I don't remember the details because some time has passed."
The statement of Derya Çayırgan, who was detained in the morning hours, has emerged. In her statement, Çayırgan said, "Mr. Ekrem told me that I could call him when I needed something. I transferred to Antalya towards the end of 2023. During my time in Antalya, I did not meet Ekrem İmamoğlu face to face. However, I visited him during a period when he was staying at the Mariott Hotel."
MASAK REPORTS AND 50 THOUSAND EUROS
Stating that her first contact with Ekrem İmamoğlu occurred during the pandemic, Çayırgan responded to the prosecutor's question regarding the bank transactions in the MASAK reports, "I was not depositing the money I earned before 2021 into the bank. After 2021, I converted some of my savings into foreign currency and deposited them into my bank account." Regarding the 50 thousand Euros deposited into her account on June 16, 2023, she said, "This money is my savings. I deposited the 50 thousand Euros to buy a house. It is not money given to me by others."
THE "WE ARE WINNING" STATEMENT WRITTEN IN THE EXPLANATION
Regarding the payments made to Kameroğlu İnşaat during the same dates, Çayırgan stated, "I sent 32 thousand dollars and 62 thousand 570 TL to buy a house. The statement 'we are winning' written in the explanation is an expression of joy related to the national team process." She also recorded that the value of the house is 4 million 100 thousand TL and that the title deed was transferred on June 19, 2023.
"I DON'T KNOW WHY I DIDN'T SEND EUROS"
In response to the prosecutor's question about why the money was sent in dollars and TL instead of Euros, Çayırgan said, "I don't know why I did it that way at that time. I might have done it under the guidance of the banker. I don't remember the details because some time has passed."
Here is Çayırgan's statement to the prosecutor;
"I encountered the person named Ekrem İmamoğlu while walking in Taksim in 2020 or 2021 (during the pandemic). I addressed him as 'Hello Mr. President, how are you?' I told him that I am a national volleyball player and that I play for Galatasaray. We chatted in the crowd. I expressed that I wanted to visit him in his office.
"HE SENT US TO THE HOTEL WITH THE NEIGHBORS"
One of the people next to him gave me a phone number and said, 'Call from here when you want to come.' I called to visit in 2022-2023. On the date of the appointment given to me, I visited him at the İPA facility in Florya. In 2023, my house in Bahçelievler was demolished. We asked for help from Özgür Çelik, who was the district president of Bahçelievler at that time and also my friend, due to our victimization. He sent my family and me to a hotel along with the neighbors living in the building. After a while, they placed my family in the İBB facilities.
"I CALLED İMAMOĞLU BY FINDING HIS PERSONAL PHONE NUMBER"
Since I played at PTT in Ankara, I returned to Istanbul after a while. I stayed here with my family for 3.5 months. During my stay, I constantly searched for a house. In this process, I found Ekrem İmamoğlu's personal phone number and called him. He initially did not answer the phone, but later got back to me. I thanked him.
HE MADE A JOB OFFER
During this time, I visited him. We talked about sports. He asked me, 'Would you like to play at İBB?' I told him that I couldn't play because they were in a lower league, but I could play if they moved up to a higher league. He asked me what I would do after my career ended. I said I had no plans. Then he asked if I wanted to work in İBB's sports management after I retired from volleyball. I said, why not after I retire from volleyball.
"HE SAID 'CALL ME WHEN YOU NEED SOMETHING'"
As I was leaving, I was introduced to Mustafa Akın, who is introduced as his right-hand man. I said I was pleased to meet him. Mr. Ekrem told me that I could call him when I needed something.
VISITED AT THE HOTEL
Towards the end of 2023, I transferred to Antalya. During my time in Antalya, I never met Ekrem İmamoğlu face to face. I visited him because he was staying at the Marriott Hotel. I do not know the individuals named Fatih Keleş, Tuncay Yılmaz, and Murat Gülibrahimoğlu that you asked me about.
I met Mustafa Akın, as I mentioned at the beginning of my statement, when I was told to contact him if I could not reach Ekrem İmamoğlu during my visit. In my statement, I mentioned that when I could not reach Ekrem İmamoğlu, I called Mustafa Akın. Other than that, I have not had any other contact with Mustafa Akın. I called him when I could not reach Ekrem İmamoğlu."
