An explanation has been provided by the governorship regarding the participation of the grieving father, Asaf Arı, in the funeral ceremony of Infantry Specialist Sergeant Taner Arı, who was martyred in Northern Iraq, wearing slippers. The governorship stated that Asaf Arı suffers from paralysis and fish scale disease, and noted that he experiences serious discomfort due to sweating and moisture when wearing shoes.
The Bingöl Governorship made a written statement regarding the social media posts about Asaf Arı, the father of infantry specialist sergeant Taner Arı, who lost his life while serving in northern Iraq. The governorship emphasized the need to accurately inform the public, stating that the posts in question do not reflect the truth.
"THE CLAIM OF ECONOMIC DEPRIVATION DOES NOT REFLECT THE TRUTH"
In the statement, attention was drawn to the posts made under the title "The grieving father's slippered state devastated those who saw him" on some social media accounts and news sites. It was expressed that these comments have no relation to the alleged economic deprivation.
THE TRUTH TURNED OUT TO BE VERY DIFFERENT
The statement noted that father Asaf Arı works in the 4/D worker position within the Solhan Municipality, and it was recorded that the summer scarfed shoes he wore during the funeral were a choice due to health issues. It was stated that Asaf Arı experiences serious discomfort when wearing shoes due to a congenital fish scale disease (ichthyosis vulgaris) and a previous stroke (paralysis).
"THE FAMILY IS ALSO DISTURBED BY THESE SHARES"
In the governorship's statement, it was reported that especially on sunny and rainless days, father Arı preferred to wear thick socks and summer scarfed shoes, and this situation was also conveyed to the authorities by family members during the funeral. The statement emphasized that the family, who has just buried their child, is deeply disturbed by the posts made.
Infantry specialist sergeant Taner Arı, who lost his life due to his weapon accidentally firing in northern Iraq, was buried after the funeral held in his hometown of Solhan in Bingöl two days ago.
