"TRAILERS NOT REGISTERED BY 2035 WILL BE PROHIBITED FROM TRAFFIC"

The Chairman of the Board of the Association, Ahmet Fazlıoğlu, stated to AA correspondent that the screens of the notary branches where vehicle registration transactions will be carried out are planned to be activated on January 1, 2025, but due to possible systemic problems, the obligation to complete the registration transactions has been postponed until July 1, 2025, to address any potential disruptions.

Fazlıoğlu, who informed that ARTES applications can be made through the Turkish Notaries Union portal with identity, company information, and e-signature, stated that for trailers and semi-trailers with a loaded weight of up to 750 kilograms produced before January 1, 2025, those whose compliance certificate information is electronically transferred to ARTES will be registered upon request until January 1, 2035, and those not registered after this date will be prohibited from use on the road.

Fazlıoğlu noted that for all O1 class trailers produced after January 1, 2025, the registration process has been made mandatory, and trailers with the mentioned certificate that are not registered by 2035 will be prohibited from traffic.

Fazlıoğlu stated that O1 class trailers that have completed the registration process will be subject to regular inspections every year, that the trailers will be used with a license plate independent of the vehicle, and that they can be driven with a Class B driver's license, adding, "This regulation aims to make our sector safer and more orderly. As KAİTED, we will continue to be by the side of our members and industry stakeholders to ensure that this process is completed smoothly."
