The gym owner, Baki K., called Topçu and asked him to work overtime. However, when the national athlete refused this offer, he was subjected to insults over the phone.
CALLED TO THE WORKPLACE
The gym owner Baki K., who called him to the establishment, allegedly pulled a gun on the national athlete who came to talk in his office and threatened him. Immediately after, the bodyguards of Baki K. entered and, after receiving the order to "Hit" from the owner, beat the national athlete for minutes. Despite all that happened, it was striking that the national athlete did not lose his composure, while he sustained fractures in his body as a result of the assault.
RELEASED UNDER JUDICIAL CONTROL
Following the victimization he experienced, Topçu filed a complaint against both suspects. The gym owner Baki K. was placed under house arrest by the court after the detention order, and was released 2.5 months later. His bodyguard Yusuf İslam D., who has 13 criminal records and was on the run for 10 days, was also released under judicial control after surrendering.
Semih Topçu, who has been bodybuilding in Bursa for 13 years and trained in a 15 square meter room at home due to gym closures during the pandemic 3-4 years ago, became the champion of champions at the 'elite procard' competition held in Serbia. Topçu also won a gold medal in badminton.
