The Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK) imposed maximum fines on channels that violated broadcasting bans, especially during daytime programming. In its weekly regular meeting, RTÜK evaluated daytime programs. Maximum fines were imposed on 7 channels due to violations of broadcasting principles in daytime programs. Following the terrorist attack on Turkish Aerospace Industries Inc., 12 channels that did not comply with the broadcasting ban issued by the relevant court were subjected to maximum administrative sanctions. Additionally, maximum penalties were decided for violations in news programs on 6 channels. The Supreme Council also imposed fines on 2 channels for illegal marketing of herbal food supplements. PENALTIES WERE IMPOSED AT THE MAXIMUM LEVELAccording to a statement from RTÜK, the Supreme Council decided on maximum sanctions for TV 8, Kanal D, NOW, Beyaz TV, Show TV, ATV, and Star TV for daytime programs. Following the terrorist attack on TUSAŞ, maximum administrative fines were also imposed on Akit TV, Beyaz TV, tv100, Kanal 3, Meltem TV, NTV, Show TV, Tele1, CNN Türk, TGRT Haber, SZC, Halk TV, and Flash Haber for not complying with the broadcasting ban issued by the relevant court. Furthermore, maximum penalties were applied to Halk TV, NOW, Bursada Bugün, Tele1, SZC, and Flash Haber for violations in the news programs they broadcast. Berat TV and Kanal Ege were fined for illegal marketing of herbal food supplements. It was stated that RTÜK will take concrete steps regarding the damage that series cause to family structure in the upcoming period. In this context, a comprehensive review will be conducted regarding episodes containing scenes that encourage violence, and it has been learned that expert reports prepared on this issue will be brought to the agenda of the Supreme Council in a short time.
