The Central Bank's Market Participants Survey changed the July raise calculations for millions of civil servants and retirees. While a raise of 18.19 percent is projected for SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees, and 13.93 percent for civil servants and retired civil servants, based on the June inflation expectation, the lowest civil servant salary is expected to rise to 70,511 TL, and the lowest retired civil servant salary to 31,640 TL.
While the countdown continues for the eagerly awaited July salary increase for millions of retirees and civil servants, calculations have been updated with the Central Bank's Market Participants Survey. With inflation data for the first five months of the year, the raise rates have largely become clear, and the final picture is beginning to take shape with the June estimate.
FIVE-MONTH DATA GUARANTEES THE RAISE
In light of inflation data covering the January-May period, the raise margins have been finalized. With inflation rates of 4.84% in January, 2.96% in February, 1.94% in March, 4.18% in April, and 1.71% in May, a raise rate of 16.61% for SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees and 12.41% for civil servants and retired civil servants has already been secured.
JUNE ESTIMATE CLARIFIES THE FIGURES
If the June inflation expectation of 1.36% in the Central Bank's Market Participants Survey materializes, the July raise rates are projected as follows:
- SSK and Bağ-Kur Retirees: 18.19% raise.
- Civil Servants and Retired Civil Servants: 7% collective agreement increase and inflation difference, totaling a 13.93% raise.
HERE ARE THE NEW SALARY SCENARIOS
If the estimates are realized, salaries are expected to reach the following levels:
- Lowest Retiree Pension: Expected to rise from the 20,000 TL level to 23,638 TL. (Note: Legal regulation is required for the minimum retiree pension.)
- Lowest Civil Servant Salary: Could increase from 61,890 TL to 70,511 TL.
- Lowest Retired Civil Servant Salary: Could rise from 27,770 TL to 31,640 TL.
All eyes are now on the date when June inflation data will be announced and the subsequent official regulations.
