Mustafa Kemal Zengin, who threatened Public Prosecutor Yavuz Engin in his office during the investigation of the newborn gang, appeared before the judge. Zengin's defense included the claim that "the organization's second invisible leader is also the prosecutor," which infuriated Engin. Prosecutor Engin stated, "The dishonorable criminal is accusing me of being the leader of a criminal organization."

During the investigation phase of the newborn gang case, 13 defendants, including Mustafa Kemal Zengin, who threatened Public Prosecutor Yavuz Engin in his office, appeared before the judge for the first time, six of whom are in custody. Tension arose between Prosecutor Engin and defendant Zengin during the hearing.

In the hearing that began at the Bakırköy 21st High Criminal Court, the complainant Public Prosecutor Yavuz Engin, the detained defendants including Mustafa Kemal Zengin and Aylin Arslantatar, and the lawyers of the parties were present.

"I ASKED THE PROSECUTOR WHY THE HOSPITAL OWNERS WERE NOT ARRESTED"

Zengin claimed in his defense that defendant Arslantatar and Prosecutor Engin communicated via social media, and that Arslantatar said the complainant Yavuz Engin invited her to his office and wanted to meet. Zengin stated, "At first, I didn't want to go, but Arslantatar wanted to meet because she is a close friend of the complainant Yavuz Engin and knows his mother. So, we went to Yavuz Engin together to share what I knew about this incident. When I came to the prosecutor's office, I started by saying, 'I did not come here to intervene in any incident. I came at Aylin Arslantatar's insistence.' While I was talking about my research related to the case, the topic came to Tuğçe Toptemel. The prosecutor asked me, 'What do you want to learn about Tuğçe Toptemel?' I said, 'Let her be tried, let her be acquitted.' There was absolutely no situation as it was served to the press. I asked the prosecutor why the hospital owners were not arrested, and he told me that despite the reports being received, 'The reports have not arrived.' When we asked the prosecutor for our permission to leave, he said, 'Stay a little longer.' There is definitely no attempt to murder, and there is no situation related to the prosecutor's private life. I do not have the prosecutor's number; how could I do such a thing? I told Aylin Arslantatar, 'This person is not your friend; be sure that he recorded our meeting,'" he stated.

According to Habertürk, during his defense, Mustafa Kemal Zengin said, "I request to watch the video in the prosecutor's office together. The second invisible leader of the organization is also the prosecutor. I have been in a solitary cell for a year."

"DISHONORABLE CRIMINAL CALLS ME ORGANIZATION LEADER"

Reacting to Zengin's words, complainant prosecutor Yavuz Engin responded to Zengin, saying, "You are being tried in custody, my lion, relax. The dishonorable criminal accuses me of being the leader of a criminal organization. The state does not set traps."
