A new list has been published by the Social Security Institution (SGK) for those who wish to apply for disability retirement, containing valid diseases. The list includes the necessary conditions for employees who want to gain the right to early retirement. Employees struggling with certain health issues can receive early retirement benefits under the disability retirement framework. According to a report by Ekonomim; SGK announced the changes made to the list of diseases to be considered. WHO CAN RETIRE EARLY?SGK sets a few basic conditions for those who wish to benefit from the right to disability retirement. The primary condition is that the insured person must have paid premiums for at least 10 years and reached a total of 1,800 days of premium payment. Additionally, it is required that the existing illness causes at least a 60% loss of work capacity. Those who meet all the conditions can benefit from disability retirement and gain the right to early retirement. DISEASES COVERED BY DISABILITY RETIREMENTSGK announced the list of health issues included in the scope of disability retirement. The updated list includes serious and chronic diseases. The main diseases evaluated under disability retirement as announced by SGK are as follows: Cancer, epilepsy, Parkinson's disease, brain tumors, Behçet's disease, organ transplants (excluding bone marrow), bipolar disorder, tuberculosis, schizophrenia, multiple sclerosis (MS), cirrhosis, intellectual disability, dementia, limb loss, vision loss, and paralysis. WHAT DOCUMENTS ARE REQUIRED FOR APPLICATION?Those who will apply for disability retirement must complete the documents requested by SGK in full. The documents include paperwork related to employment, medical reports, and premium payment status. The documents submitted under the procedures determined by SGK are meticulously reviewed.
