The strong southwest wind that has been affecting Beyoğlu, Istanbul, tore the roof off a building and hurled it into the street. During the incident, two people and a motorcycle courier narrowly escaped from the roof.
According to the information obtained, the incident occurred around 1:45 PM on Aydın Street in the Piyalepaşa neighborhood of Beyoğlu. The roof of a building could not withstand the strong wind and was blown off into the street.
THEY ESCAPED FROM BEING TRAPPED UNDER THE FLYING ROOF BY SECONDS
Just seconds before the incident, two people and a motorcycle courier passing through the street narrowly escaped being trapped under the roof. The flying roof fell onto a parked car. While the vehicle was damaged, fortunately, no one was injured in the incident.

Upon notification of the situation, fire crews were dispatched to the scene. The roof was removed with the help of the teams. "I SAW THE ROOF FALL ON MY CAR"
Cemil Cırık, whose vehicle was damaged, said, "I was working inside. First, there was a thunderous sound, and I went outside to look around. I went back inside, and then there was a loud noise. I thought a large vehicle had come and hit my car. I went outside. I saw the roof fall on my car. My vehicle was damaged. Thank God no one was hurt. There is nothing to be done for the car. It seems this was meant to be."
