"I HAD MEETINGS AT A SYMPATHY LEVEL"

Sakınan's statement given in court has emerged. In his statement, Sakınan stated that he did not accept the accusations against him, saying, "I have only had meetings at a sympathy level; I have not engaged in any actions like a member of the organization. Even before July 15, our dialogues were in this manner. I only had dialogues with my colleagues within the framework of professional relationships. I was caught at home related to this case. In this case, there is also the issue of being a member of the organization due to my being a fugitive after July 15. I was at home, I was at my official residence, I did not go outside. There were reasons for this; because due to the events I experienced before July 15, I did not go outside my residence after that period due to the anxiety and fear I experienced. During this process, I did not meet with any organization members, judicially or civilly, regarding my situation. If I had such an intention, I would have fled abroad like most people. If I had established contact, I would have gone. I did not bother to leave because I love my country. I am innocent," he said.
