The premiums for mandatory traffic insurance, which concerns millions of vehicle owners across Turkey, have been announced for the month of September. With the release of the updated maximum premium list by the Insurance Information Center, the insurance fees for all types of vehicles, including cars, taxis, buses, and motorcycles, have been redefined.

Under the new regulation, premiums have been increased by 1.2%, while the difference in premiums between particularly risky drivers and safe drivers has drawn attention, exceeding 500%. This situation has created significant differences in insurance obligations based on drivers' traffic histories.

According to the new tariff, the annual premium for a driver in the highest risk group at the zero level in Istanbul has risen to 43,835 TL. In contrast, the premium for the safest driver, classified at level 8, has been announced as 7,306 TL. Thus, the difference between risky and non-risky drivers in the same city has exceeded 6 times.

In Ankara, the highest premium is set at 42,594 TL, while the lowest premium is determined to be 7,099 TL. In Izmir, these figures are recorded as 41,353 TL and 6,892 TL, respectively.
