A thief who broke into a business in Adana and stole a steel safe containing approximately 1 million lira worth of gold, cash, and jewelry left behind evidence when he relieved himself near the business. The police discovered that the perpetrator of the crime was Ferhat K. through DNA analysis of fecal traces found on the underwear left at the crime scene. The suspect was sentenced to 12 years and 6 months in prison.

According to the information received, on the night of March 10, 2022, three suspects, who concealed their faces, entered a workplace that produces plastic grinding machines with a wheelbarrow in the Ova neighborhood of Seyhan district. The suspects broke the automatic shutter and entered, stealing a safe containing gold, money, and valuables worth approximately 1 million lira.

The thieves loaded the safe and various materials onto the wheelbarrow and tried to cover their tracks. However, an interesting detail did not escape the police's attention. One of the suspects left evidence behind when he relieved himself near the workplace. The owner, B.L., who arrived at the workplace in the morning, noticed the theft and reported it to the police.

THE PERPETRATOR OF THE INCIDENT IDENTIFIED

Crime scene investigation teams collected the underwear left by the suspect who relieved himself as evidence while conducting fingerprint scans in the area. DNA analysis of the feces residue in the underwear revealed that the perpetrator of the incident was Ferhat K. The captured Ferhat K. was arrested.

12 YEARS AND 6 MONTHS PRISON SENTENCE GIVEN

The suspect, who initially claimed that the person in the footage was not him, was forced to confess his crime due to the DNA result. Ferhat K., who stated that he became ill during the theft and could not hold his bowel movement, has completed his trial. The court sentenced the suspect to 12 years and 6 months in prison. Meanwhile, it was learned that the judicial process regarding the other suspects, Y.E. and M.A., is ongoing.
