It was determined that the electricity transmission cables connected to the fallen pole were also cut and hidden in the surrounding bushes. With approximately 3.5 kilometers of the line out of service, the Evren Industrial Site and the nearby residential and commercial areas were left without electricity.
In the Eyyübiye district of Şanlıurfa, an electricity pole near the Evren Industrial Site fell due to the theft of support units. The thieves also stole the electricity transmission cables, causing the region to lose power.
After the incident, which left nearly a thousand subscribers, primarily consisting of industrial tradesmen and residential areas, without electricity, Dicle Electricity teams quickly provided power to the area through an alternative energy line.
3.5 KILOMETER LINE OUT OF SERVICE
In the incident, one pole completely fell due to the theft of support units. It was determined that the electricity transmission cables connected to the fallen pole were also cut and stolen, and hidden in nearby bushes. Following the incident, approximately 3.5 kilometers of line went out of service, leaving the tradesmen of Evren Industrial Site, as well as residential and business places, without power for a while. The company emphasized that such theft attempts not only threaten energy supply but also endanger human life.
A CRIMINAL COMPLAINT HAS BEEN FILED WITH THE PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE
Dicle Electricity initiated repair works after the incident and also took steps for legal proceedings. While teams were dispatched to the area for the reconstruction of the pole and lines, a criminal complaint was filed with the public prosecutor's office to identify the perpetrators of the incident. Company officials stated, "Interventions that damage our energy infrastructure not only harm public resources but also jeopardize the safety and living comfort of citizens. We will follow up on these incidents."
