In Muğla, Ayşe Alanur Karatepe, the sister of dismissed Captain Burkay Karatepe, who was detained on suspicion of aiding and abetting him during his fugitive period, was arrested for membership in the armed terrorist organization FETÖ. Karatepe, who had also been imprisoned for 1 year 10 years ago on the same charge, claimed in her statement that she did not want to benefit from effective remorse and that she had no knowledge of the escape plans and funding sources in her brother's digital materials.

Within the scope of the investigation carried out by the Muğla Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, his sister Ayşe Alanur Karetepe, who was caught in Muğla on the claim of aiding and harboring the coup-attempting FETÖ member, dismissed Captain Burkay Karatepe, during his fugitive period, and was arrested for membership in the armed terrorist organization FETÖ, stated in her statement at the police station that she had not committed a crime that would require her to benefit from the effective remorse law and that she did not want to benefit from the effective remorse law.

Stating in her statement that she had no connection with the FETÖ terrorist organization, Karatepe explained that until 2017, she was held in Eskişehir Prison for one year on charges of aiding and harboring her brother Burkay Karatepe, and was released in August 2017 with a travel ban and judicial control conditions. She said she was sentenced to 3 years and 9 months and that this file is still pending before the Court of Cassation.

When asked about the claim that after the capture of her brother Burkay Karatepe, a communication method using drafts without sending emails, via email addresses prepared to contact Burkay Karatepe, was found in numerous Word documents among the digital materials, she replied, 'I have no knowledge.' To most of the questions about the draft correspondence, she said, 'I don't want to answer,' 'I have no knowledge about this,' or 'I don't want to answer questions about communication via email addresses at this stage without my personal lawyer. I can provide further statements on these questions at a later stage with my personal lawyer present.'
TO THE "ESCAPE PLAN" QUESTION
Regarding the correspondence about the escape plan, she said, 'I have no knowledge about this.'
In the correspondence found within the digital materials seized after the arrest of the coup-attempting FETÖ member Burkay Karatepe in Afyonkarahisar, regarding the escape plan, the messages included statements like, 'Hopefully, we won't be there for another winter, but will spend it in a nice country together. I will put the office up for sale after New Year's; its price is high. I am preparing, you prepare too. That's why I started sports, so I can run. We will go together. For now, we are waiting for suitable conditions. Two years ago, during the earthquake, it was a time of complete chaos; we didn't think of it. We couldn't take advantage of it.' To these, she said, 'I have no knowledge about this.'
"MY FATHER MIGHT HAVE GIVEN THE MONEY"
She was asked whether she had any information about the gold, dollars, euros, and Turkish lira worth approximately 6 million 775 thousand TL seized during the search of the residence after Burkay Karatepe's capture in Afyonkarahisar, who gave the money, and whether it was provided by members of the FETÖ armed terrorist organization. Ayşe Alanur Karetepe answered this question, saying, "My thought on these matters is that my father might have taken it. I have no information about the source of this money. I don't know if Burkay received any aid from the organization during his fugitive period. However, my thought is that to prevent him from getting involved in a new crime, my father might have given money to Burkay for his needs within his means."
