The trial of 28 defendants, including Dilan and Engin Polat, who were accused of money laundering, has begun. DİLAN POLAT VISITED HER HUSBAND YESTERDAYDilan Polat, who was arrested on November 5, 2023, and released on August 19, 2024, visited her husband Engin Polat yesterday with the accompaniment of guards. After being released, Dilan Polat, who was warned by her husband, saying "You will not speak, you will not use the phone," did not say a word when she got out of the prison and got into the car. IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE MONEY WAS TRANSFERRED TO ANOTHER ACCOUNTIn the operations carried out in 6 provinces centered in Istanbul on November 1, 2023, and afterwards, suspects including Dilan Polat and her husband Engin Polat were detained. In the preliminary investigation report prepared by the Financial Crimes Investigation Board (MASAK), it was determined that there was an inflow of 200 million liras to the personal accounts of family members through the method of issuing fake invoices in exchange for so-called trade from 3 liquidated companies. It was also determined that a medical company owned by Dilan and Engin Polat gave the naming rights to another company in Ankara and an attempt was made to transfer 1 million 800 thousand liras in the account of this company to the personal accounts of the partners. THEY ARE SENTENCED UP TO 40 YEARS IN PRISONThe Anatolian Republic Prosecutor's Office demanded that Dilan Polat and Engin Polat be sentenced to imprisonment for a total of 20 to 40 years for the crimes of establishing and managing a criminal organization, money laundering, and violating the Law on Betting and Games of Chance in Football and Other Sports Competitions. Different prison sentences were requested for other suspects. Dilan Polat, who was arrested on November 5, 2023, was released on August 19, 2024.
