Following the signing of a comprehensive ceasefire agreement with the terrorist organization SDG/YPG in Syria, the U.S. Ambassador to Ankara and Special Representative for Syria, Tom Barrack, met with Syrian President Ahmed Shara in Damascus. A statement from the Syrian Presidency indicated that the discussions focused on the March 10 agreement.
On October 6, around 23:00, clashes began in the neighborhoods of Ashrafiyeh and Sheikh Maqsoud in Aleppo, Syria, where the terrorist organization PKK/YPG targeted Syrian security forces and civilians with snipers placed in high buildings and mortar attacks.
CEASEFIRE AGREED WITH SDF/YPG IN SYRIA
Syria's Defense Minister Lieutenant General Murhef Ebu Kasra announced that an agreement was reached for a comprehensive ceasefire in the northern and northeastern regions of the country during a meeting with Mazlum Abdi, one of the PKK/YPG leaders using the name SDF in Syria.
Ebu Kasra stated on his social media account that he met with Abdi in the capital, Damascus. Regarding the meeting, Ebu Kasra said, "We agreed on a comprehensive ceasefire along all front lines and military deployment points in northern and northeastern Syria." He noted that it was decided for the agreement to take effect immediately.
BARRACK MET WITH SHARA
Following the ceasefire, it was reported that Syrian President Ahmed Shara met with the US Ambassador to Ankara and Special Representative for Syria, Tom Barrack. In a statement made by the Syrian Presidency, it was mentioned that the latest developments in Syria and the March 10 Agreement were discussed during the meeting.
SYRIAN FOREIGN MINISTER COMING TO TURKEY
Syrian Foreign Minister Esad Hasan Sheybani will pay a working visit to Turkey. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that Syrian Foreign Minister Esad Hasan Sheybani will visit Turkey for a working visit on October 8.
YPG TARGETED SECURITY FORCES IN SYRIA
On the morning of October 6, the snipers deployed by PKK/YPG in the neighborhoods of Ashrafiyeh and Sheikh Maqsoud targeted the checkpoints of the security forces affiliated with the Ministry of Interior. The terrorist organization targeted residential areas adjacent to the two neighborhoods with mortar and artillery fire until the evening, causing dozens of families to be displaced.
