A big wave of price increases is coming: driver's license, vehicle tax, passport, meal allowance, traffic fines...

With the announcement of the 2025 Revaluation Rate, taxes, fees, passport fees, driver's license fees, IMEI registration fees, traffic fines, as well as food and transportation costs will increase starting from January 1, 2026. While the rate is expected to be in the range of 22-24%, in this case, a 10-year passport will rise to 13,867 TL, and IMEI registration will increase to 56,000 TL.

After the announcement of the 2025 Revaluation Rate (YDO) data, there will be an increase in various areas such as taxes, fees, traffic fines, passport, driver's license, and IMEI registration fees, as well as in the meal and transportation allowances for employees starting from January 1, 2026.

RATE EXPECTED TO BE BETWEEN 22-24 PERCENT

As in every year, the YDO will be clarified with the announcement of the inflation data for October this year. The rate, determined by the 12-month average of the Producer Price Index (ÜFE), was announced as 43.93% last year. This year, a rate between 22% and 24% is expected. This rate can be increased or decreased by a presidential decision.

INCREASE IN ALL ITEMS ON JANUARY 1, 2026

With the implementation of the new rate, there will be increases in many items such as taxes, fees, traffic fines, employee meal and transportation fees, rental tax exemptions, dividend income declaration limits, property tax, invoice, and depreciation limits. These changes will come into effect on January 1, 2026.

NEW PRICES ITEM BY ITEM

According to the information reported by NTV, if the revaluation rate is set at 23%:

  • Meal card fee: 240 TL + VAT → 295 TL + VAT
  • IMEI registration fee: 45,614 TL → 56,000 TL
  • Exit fee for abroad: 1,000 TL → 1,230 TL
  • Class A driver's license fee: 1,883 TL → 2,316 TL
  • Class B driver's license fee: 5,678 TL → 6,984 TL
  • 3-year passport fee: 8,000 TL → 9,840 TL
  • 10-year passport fee: 11,274 TL → 13,867 TL

EMPLOYEES' MEAL AND TRANSPORTATION FEES WILL ALSO BE AFFECTED

The Revaluation Rate will not only directly affect taxes and fees but also the meal and transportation assistance provided to employees. The increase rate will be significantly reflected in salary calculations and expense items. According to experts, the new rates that will come into effect in 2026 will directly impact citizens' pockets and will also provide a significant increase in the government's tax revenues.
