In the Ekinözü district of Kahramanmaraş, the village headman, who is alleged to have stabbed and killed a person, was taken into custody, while it was revealed that he had posted a condolence message on social media for the deceased individual.
According to reports, neighbors of Mehmet Ali Karakoç, who had not been heard from, notified health and police teams. In the initial examination by the teams that arrived at the scene, cut marks were found on the body of the deceased Karakoç. The Ekinözü District Police Department and the Provincial Police Department's Public Order Branch Homicide Bureau teams launched a wide-ranging investigation to clarify the murder.
HEADMAN ARRESTED
When security cameras and evidence were examined, it was determined that Headman M.Ç. had stayed in Karakoç's container for about two hours on the day of the incident and had locked the door when leaving. Following the evidence obtained, Headman M.Ç. was taken into custody. After completing his procedures at the police station, the headman was referred to the court, where he was arrested.
PUBLISHED A CONDOLENCE MESSAGE FOR THE PERSON HE KILLED
After the incident, Karakoç's nephew, Şahin Karakoç, announced his uncle's death on his social media account. However, it was learned that the headman M.Ç., who was later taken into custody as the main suspect in the murder, commented under the post, "May God have mercy on him, may his place be paradise, inshallah."
FAMILY REACTED
Karakoç's family and the local community reacted strongly to the situation. Şahin Karakoç stated in a post on his social media account, "Ekinözü! You saw this too! We witnessed the brutal murder of an innocent, elderly, defenseless person. If we had delayed a little longer, we would have seen the killer attending the funeral of the man he killed." Meanwhile, Mehmet Ali Karakoç was buried today in a funeral ceremony.
