The statement included the following remarks: "As of 5:00 p.m. ET today, U.S. Central Command forces have begun launching further strikes against Iran, aimed at continuing to degrade the capabilities of civilian mariners and commercial vessels freely transiting the Persian Gulf. The Commander-in-Chief has ordered these strikes to hold Iranian forces accountable."
