WOMAN HARASSER DETAINED
Istanbul Police Department teams conducted an operation to apprehend the woman whose images of entering workplaces and harassing men were shared on social media platforms. The teams took into custody the suspect identified as Z.E. (30).
REFERRED TO HOSPITAL
The suspect woman, taken to the police station for processing, was alleged to be a bipolar disorder patient. After police procedures, the suspect was referred to the Küçükçekmece Courthouse.
After the prosecutor's statement, the suspect Z.E. was referred to the criminal judgeship of peace, and it was decided to place her under observation at an appropriate health facility to determine whether she has criminal capacity.
"DON'T TOUCH ME"
The security camera footage shared on social media showed the suspect approaching male employees and attempting physical contact, while the employees reacted by saying "Don't touch me" and "Would you please step outside?"
FIRST INCIDENT SURFACED IN ÜMRANİYE
After the first incident surfaced in Ümraniye, the same woman was seen visiting workplaces in different districts of Istanbul and engaging in similar behavior.
The suspect would enter workplaces saying, "I am a student, I am selling cologne to earn my pocket money," and after communicating with employees, she would attempt physical contact.
LAST SEEN IN İKİTELLİ
The suspect was last seen visiting a business in İkitelli, where she also harassed a male employee. The footage captured on security camera showed the employee trying to maintain distance while the suspect left the workplace after insulting him.
According to the victimized shopkeepers' statements, the woman would enter the store claiming she wanted to sell products, and upon rejection, she would display aggressive behavior. It was also reported that at some workplaces, she charged at employees, made severe insults, and tried to force her way in.
