U.S. President Donald Trump reiterated strong support for the right of the people of Greenland to determine their own future, stating, "If you want, we invite you to become a part of the United States, the largest nation in the world."
U.S. President Donald Trump once again expressed his desire to annex Greenland to his country. In a statement made through his own Truth social media platform, Trump recalled his speech in the U.S. Congress, saying, "As I clearly stated in my speech, the U.S. strongly supports the right of the people of Greenland to determine their own future."
"WE WILL CONTINUE TO KEEP YOU SAFE"
Addressing the people of Greenland with the words, "We will continue to keep you safe as we have since World War II," Trump stated, "We are ready to invest billions of dollars to create new job opportunities and enrich you. And if you wish, we invite you to be a part of the United States, the largest nation in the world."
HE HAD BROUGHT IT UP IN CONGRESS
Having previously expressed many times that Greenland should be a part of the U.S., Trump had also brought up the issue in his speech in the U.S. Congress. Addressing the people of Greenland, he said, "We strongly support your right to determine your own future, and if you wish, we are waiting for you to join the U.S." Trump emphasized that Greenland is critical for the national and international security of the U.S., stating, "One way or another, we will take Greenland."
